Give roots and water somewhere to go
Planting beds need enough soil volume, drainage and irrigation for the selected species. Trees placed over structures or beside services require deliberate root and waterproofing coordination.

Coordinate hardscape levels
Paths, kerbs, drains, ramps and planting should move water away from buildings without creating trip hazards or inaccessible routes. Small level mistakes can become recurring maintenance problems.

Design for the maintenance team
Pruning, irrigation repair, waste removal and replacement planting need safe access. Landscape quality is easier to retain when routine work does not require damaging finished surfaces or private areas.
