Development practice
Handover Readiness
Handover prepares the building for normal use.
Commissioning, defects, records, warranties, training and owner information are organised before occupation so unfinished project work does not become an operating problem.
Verify systems
Relevant building services should be commissioned and supported by the records required for the project. Outstanding tests and statutory items need a clear route to completion.
Close physical work
Snags, incomplete areas and access constraints should be tracked to verified close-out. Shared spaces and back-of-house areas deserve the same discipline as saleable rooms.
Transfer information
Manuals, warranties, keys, asset records, emergency information and maintenance responsibilities should move to the people who will operate or own the building.
